You may have noticed that we offer a variety of services in addition to the standard chiropractic spinal manipulation. We believe that each patient should be evaluated based on the specific complaints they are experiencing and treated accordingly.
With our wide range of treatment options, the list of ailments we can treat is quite extensive. We've listed a few just to give you an idea:
A spinal manipulation is the act of moving a joint within the anatomically designed range of motion to correct joint misalignment. Common results are pain relief, improved joint function and enhanced performance of the neuromuscular system.
Spinal manipulations are commonly used to treat back and neck pain, disc conditions, pinched nerves, jammed fingers and toes, wrist and ankle/feet pain, shoulder pain, etc.
Most patients experience immediate relief with spinal manipulation.
Treatment of the soft tissue utilizes specific, skilled hands-on techniques to relax tight muscles that are limiting a joint's performance.
This treatment forces muscles to relax from a guarded state which decreases pain and increases range of motion.
Platinum Chiropractic may suggest this treatment prior to spinal manipulation to loosen tight areas and allow greater movement of the joints.
Soft tissue therapies are commonly used to treat tension headaches, stress induced muscle spasms, sports injuries and other causes of tight muscles.
Platinum Chiropractic has extensive experience providing chiropractic care to the sports related fields. Our current patient base includes athletes of professional sports all the way down to middle-school little leagues.
Dr. Ray may also be available to travel with patient athletes who require on-site treatment through trials or other competitions. Some of his current patients include Olympic hopefuls (sprinters, long jumpers, mid-distance runners), body builders (Mr. Olympia), professional football players (Texans & 49ers), triathletes (Ironman), swimmers, marathon runners, tennis players, golfers, soccer players, baseball pitchers, and more.
Stretch therapy is doctor-assisted stretching of tight muscles using a push and pull method. The doctor's assistance creates a deeper stretch than can be performed on your own.
Once areas become inflexible they can cause biomechanical problems in the surrounding areas leading to more pain. Routine stretch therapy can not only prevent the migration from occurring but can also reverse the inflexibility of the pain source. Stretch therapy can also significantly reduce the likelihood of injury.
Platinum Chiropractic takes a special interest in chiropractic care for mothers-to-be!
Various forms of treatment including soft tissue and manipulation can control the back, hip and pelvic pain that are common during pregnancy. Great care is taken to avoid abdominal pressure with slight changes in positioning during treatment.
Chiropractic care can be administered to mothers-to-be all the way up to full term. We even have experience with mothers expecting multiples!
Due to the activity level of children (sports and otherwise), they tend to have substantial misalignment of the spine. Chiropractic care in children has even been found to help manage hyperactivity!
Chiropractic treatment for children is absolutely safe but will be performed on a case-by-case basis as needed.
Electric muscle stimulation has two primary functions:
The electric pulses stimulate the motor system (nerves and muscles) causing spontaneous muscle contraction. This is a passive exercise that can slow the degenerative process caused by muscles that begin to atrophy.
